Lecture Introduction
This lecture will explore how amateur enthusiasts and professionals interact with art, as well as the ways in which meaning is generated. Including how we analyze art, the basic principles of formal analysis, the discussion and interpretation of an artwork using different methods, and new analytical methods such as careful reading and computer analysis. The speaker is Professor Oksana Bulgakowa from Germany.
Introduction of the speaker
Professor Oksana Bulgakowa has served as the Director, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of the Department of Film Studies at the University of Mainz in Germany; Member of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI); Chairman of the International Jury of the Wilhelmshaven Experimental Film Festival in Germany from 1991 to 1997; 1996 FIPRESCI evaluation for the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland; In 1995, served as a FIPRESCI judge at the Berlin Film Festival; Selected filmmakers for the new film unit at the 1990-1992 Berlin Film Festival. During her forty year academic career, she has published nearly 300 academic papers and conference papers, as well as over 20 works.
She has produced films such as Silver Dust, Made in Russia and Made in America, radio dramas such as One Night in the Kremlin, and Different Faces of Eisenstein, which have been incorporated into the Youth Film Forum at the Montreal Film Festival and Berlin Film Festival, as well as Pesaro's Silent Film Day.
